MettaTouch - Wake up! Wake up!

MettaTouch = Loving Kindness Touch

Metta Touch

Metta (Loving Kindness) - Touch (to physically, spiritually or mentally connect to another).

Who am I?  I am a human being, a man, a husband, a father, a friend, an Interfaith Minister.  I stand 6'2" and weigh somewhere near 200lbs, with brown hair and green/blue eyes.  Is this who I am?

I've survived cancer twice, a broken home, broken relationships, heart ache, disappointment and am still captivated by life.  Is this who I am?

I am a spiritual seeker, public speaker and advocate for living a balanced life, a yoga teacher, massage therapist, corporate executive, consultant and teacher.  Is this who I am?

Who are we?  What are we doing here?  What is it that I must do for my life, right now?  My studies of
Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Zen, Taoism, Hinduism and ancient wisdom, all point to these questions of philosophy, psychology, myth, music, dance, celebration and community building.  My corporate world experience through AT&T, MCI, BT and other corporate communities has given me a deep appreciation for the "issues".   Corporate politics can be nasty, cold and not all that much fun for some.  Business is not necessarily for the sensitive.  Yet it takes a good combination of IQ and EQ.  And, just as the warriors put on their armor, the business executive puts on his suit and tie to do achieve and strive for the material.

I have been a consultant, coach, Minister and Counselor to business leaders, giving of myself, understanding of faiths, philosophies and healing.  The common human experience and story is that we have all experienced some level of regret, remorse, trauma, hurt and loss in some way.  This is the path to growth and the path to recovery.  We talk, hear, heal and understand ourselves to show up for this journey called life.  This is what we are obliged to do.  To help people do, to show up and not run away from themselves...our journey.

Our paths take us through schools for experience.  Mine have been both formal and informal.  Esalen, Omega, Shalom Mountain Retreat & Study Center, Zen Centers, The New York Open Center, St. Peter's College (a Catholic Jesuit College) or Fordham University (another Jesuit Catholic College) for an MBA program.  The Interfaith dialog started at The New Seminary, and has continued after my ordination at St. John the Divine, Ordination in 2003.  I have married people, and have been a part of the clergy at The Church of the Village here in New York City.
